Proctored Testing
Every Canyons Virtual Academy course has one required proctored test. Proctored tests are clearly labeled with the word “Proctored” in the activity title. The proctored tests are password protected.
- Grades 6-8 require a parent/guardian to proctor the test and enter the password in a home environment. Grades 6-8 students should follow the instructions in their course for proctored testing.
- Grades 9-12 require a CVA proctor to supervise and enter the password in a Canyons District testing center. Grades 9-12 students should read and follow the instructions below.

Students in Grades 9-12
Proctored tests are typically placed toward the end of the course to assess knowledge of course content. Students complete and submit the exam under supervision at a CVA testing site.
- Testing can be done as soon as coursework is completed.
- Original credit and Credit Recovery courses require 60% on the proctored exam.
- Driver’s Education requires a State comprehensive final exam administered at the end of the course which must be passed at 80%.

- Students living more than 35 miles from a CVA testing site should contact the CVA office at 801-826-5220 for assistance.
- Students needing special testing accommodations designated by an IEP/504/DLP/SPED plan MUST call the CVA office for assistance 801-826-5220.

Testing Rooms at Canyons District High Schools
- Daily appointments
- Tuesday Evening appointments during the school year
- Walk-in appointments Wednesday and Thursdays 8-11am
- Weekly after school appointments during the school year.
- Choose type of test and location.
- Appointments are released 7 days in advance. No appointments can be set more than one week in advance.
- Students must bring a PHOTO ID for verification of identity.
- Students must follow Canyons District dress code or may be refused testing.
